Rebirth of CuInS 2 as hole transport material for perovskite solar cells

چکیده
Copper indium sulfide, CuInS2 (CIS), has entered the field of photovoltaic cells for about three decades but somehow, they have not met their theoretically predicted efficiency as an absorber material. However, it is being employed a hole transport layer in conjunction with organic–inorganic perovskite solar cells, which offer improved environmental stability at reduced production cost. This commentary piece aims to draw researchers' attention use CIS layers organic-inorganic expectation that further study and improvements will propel into commercialization race.

Hole-Transport Materials for Perovskite Solar Cells.
The pressure to move towards renewable energy has inspired researchers to look for ideas in photovoltaics that may lead to a major breakthrough. Recently the use of perovskites as a light harvester has lead to stunning progress. The power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is now approaching parity (>22 %) with that of the established technology which took decades to reach this lev...
متن کاملA dopant-free organic hole transport material for efficient planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells
We demonstrate efficient planar perovskite solar cells using a dopant-free donor–acceptor (D–A) conjugated small molecule as a hole transport material. The photovoltaic cell reaches a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 14.9%, which is comparable to or even better than that of the devices using the traditional doped 2,20,7,70-tetrakis(N,N0-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,90-spirobifluorene (spiroOM...
متن کاملA comprehensive device modelling of perovskite solar cell with inorganic copper iodide as hole transport material
Hole transport material (HTM) plays an important role in the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Spiro-MeOTAD, the commonly used HTM, is costly and can be easily degraded by heat and moisture, thus offering hindrance to commercialize PSCs. There is dire need to find an alternate inorganic and stable HTM to exploit PSCs with their maximum capability. In this paper, a compr...
متن کاملPlanar perovskite solar cells using fullerene C70 as electron selective transport layer
Owing amongst other to its high electron mobility, fullerene C70, has been widely used as an electron transporting layer in organic solar cells. In this research, we report the use of C70 thin films as electron transport layers of planar perovskite solar cells (PSCs) using a conventional device structure. The thickness of the C70 layer has been optimized to achieve the best efficiency of 12%. I...
